Jeff of the 583 on the 598 Great Circle Line Brisbane Transport Bus

Ah yes... here we are again.
actually i must take a page from mr. nicks blog to create my own. for all those that waste their time reading this and have the priviledge of being acquainted with mr nick would know that he is rather eloquently sufficient when it comes to the conversational topic of brisbane transport. with that in mind, i shall proceed to relay the events of the other morning that have made such a great impression on me.

While stepping onto the wonderful 598 great circle line bus that takes me to garden city most days of the week i happened to be greeted in an unusual manner by the bus driver. In my 18months of experience with brisbane transport and particularly the great circle line buses (598, 599) drivers will NEVER put themselves out to say "good morning", "hello" or any other commonly heard greeting. In most cases you get silence and in the rest, you get a grunt.

On this particular morning, the bus driver said "good morning and how is your morning starting out?". I engaged in short conversation whilst waiting for my ticket and then headed for my usual seat. Throughout the hour long trip I observed this driver greet every passenger and remain calm whenever an old lady poked him with her umbrella (as it had been raining).

Once completing my journey, I was compelled to ask the driver for his name and let him know that I was really appreciative of his superb manners and general compassion for his passengers. He let me know that his name was Jeff (Geoff - whichever) and that he was the driver of the bus numbered 583 which drove on the 598 Great Circle Line bus route on Tuesday when it rained. Go Jeff, you're a credit to your profession!!!
